Company History :

The company’s founder, Harland Sanders, had been raised learning how to cook his mother’s favorite recipes. After a series of jobs he took over a filling station and began to serve some of these recipes – fried chicken, steak, potatoes – to his customers. He expanded in the 1930s my buying the filling station across the street and adding additional tables to serve people. Soon his restaurant had more than 140 seats and an attached motel. In the late 1930s he was able to speed up service by purchasing a pressure cooker and modifying it to serve fried chicken in a shortened time frame. Later he began travelling and franchising his recipe to restaurant owners. Soon the name KFC was born and by the 1960s there were over six hundred locations. In 1964 Sanders sold the company to group of investors.

In fact, it was one of the first fast food restaurants to set its sights on international markets, making this move during the 1960s. Roger Eaton is the chairman and CEO of the company, and David C. Novak is the CEO of Yum! Brands. In 2011 the restaurant chain earned $15 billion in revenue.
